Olivia Rodrigo returned to MTV’s Video Music Awards this evening (September 12), performing “Vampire” from her brand new album Guts. As she took the stage at Newark, New Jersey’s Prudential Center directly after Lil Wayne’s performance, she performed while fireworks destroyed a set of trees (like in the music video). Then, she returned to the stage to perform “Get Him Back.” Watch it happen below.
Rodrigo is up for a number of awards at tonight’s VMAs ceremony; she received nods for Video of the Year, Presented by Burger King®, Song of the Year, Best Pop, Best Cinematography, and Best Editing, all for her Guts track “Vampire.”
Rodrigo’s VMAs debut occurred in 2021, when she performed her Sour hit “Good 4 U” onstage at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. That night, she also nabbed the Song of the Year trophy for her hit ballad “Drivers License.” Guts, Rodrigo’s sophomore album, landed last week following the release of “Vampire” and “Bad Idea Right?” earlier this summer.
