Younger is a TV series that has been playing for the last seven years. It revolves around the life of Liza Miller (Sutton Foster) a young mother who was finding it very difficult getting back into the work force after time away to raise a daughter. Time and again she was rejected, so she decided to lie about her age and landed a role at Millennial Publishing working for Kelsey Peters (Hilary Duff)
Â
The series also stars Debi Mazar as Maggie Amato, Miriam Shor as Diana Trout, Nico Tortorella as Josh and Peter Hermann as Charles Brooks.
Â
Younger is a series that is a lot of fun. Something that is very easy to watch, humorous and very engaging. The characters are dynamic and interesting and each episode is quite charming, leaving you wanting more. But like most good things it is time to come to an end and say goodbye.
Â
Season seven is an interesting way to sign off, as Diana Trout (Miriam Shor) has recently married and on an extended honeymoon, so Lauren Heller (Molly Bernard) has stepped in to fulfill the role at Millennial until her return.
Â
CEO Charles and Liza are continuing their on again off again relationship, but it is interrupted by the arrival of Quinn (Laura Benanti), who is determined to win over Charles.
Â
Coincidentally Maggie Amato (Debi Mazar) has recently started a teaching at a local college but accidentally had a romantic fling with the girlfriend of head lecturer Cass Dekennessy (Janeane Garofalo).
Â
What is remarkable and also enjoyable about Younger is the way it embraces sexual fluidity and the gender norms of the millennial generation, which is great to see the representation on mainstream television.
Â
Created by Darren Star, Younger has all the trademarks of a Star production, incredible fashion and a series that defines a generation. His previous works including Sex and the City, Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place and recent creation Emily in Paris.
Â
Like Star’s other series there is something very sexy and stylish about Younger. The characters are relatable, you can see a little part of yourself in all of them.Â
Â
Liza the young adult trying to get a start on her career later in life, Maggie the free loving artist living in Brooklyn, Josh the tattoo artist who wins Liza’s heart and lets her go only to regret it and Kelsey the young millennial who lands the dream job running the publishing house only to realize that it isn’t all that it is cracked up to be. All these characters are relatable and it is these that bring you back time and again to watch their stories on the small screen.
Â
Season seven will answer many of the questions like what is going to happen between Charles and Liza? Is there a chance that Josh and Liza could get back together? Is Kelsey going to hold it together for this season? How does Maggie afford the stunning loft apartment in Brooklyn?
Â
But it is time to say goodbye to our favorite characters as it has been a great seven years and Younger is a series that you can re-watch time and again as it is also a love letter to the great city of New York.
Â
Younger is currently streaming on Hulu, Paramount + and TV Land.
