Taylor Swift is entering into a unique place creatively. Due to the selling of part of her music catalog she is re-recording her last five albums before Folklore. She also has a vault of unreleased music. She has finally released one of those tracks and its call “You All Over Me”. The track sounds more similar to Folklore, but it’s actually one of the songs that did not make her sophomore record Fearless. However, it is a solid song with a strong message. Life is short, we only have so much time in this world. When people invest in others in order to get to know then, become friends or enter a relationship the parties are never the same afterwards. “You All Over Me” is about the aura that surrounds you based on the people in your life, or formerly in your life. The vocals are delivered over a soft acoustic guitar, tells a great story, and probably should have been a released track already. However, now the song is finally getting its time to shine. The song also features country music star Maren Morris which is a throwback to her country music days.
“One thing I’ve been loving about these From The Vault songs is that they’ve never been heard, so I can experiment, play, and even include some of my favorite artists. I’m really excited to have @MarenMorris singing background vocals on this song!” Swift tweeted of the news. Morris joined Swift for a surprise performance during a stop on Swift’s reputation stadium tour. A piece of the song was shared on Good Morning America Thursday morning. The song was produced by Aaron Dessner-who recently worked with Swift on her albums Folklore and Evermore.
A few weeks ago, Swift announced that she has already completed the re-recording of Fearless. The new version of the album is officially called Fearless (Taylor’s Version). It includes 26 songs, six of which are unreleased tracks from the vault.
“My version of Fearless will have 26 songs on it because I’ve decided to add songs from the vault, which are songs that almost made the original Fearless album, but I’ve now gone back and recorded those so that everyone will be able to hear not only songs that made the album, but the songs that almost made it: the full picture,” Swift said via video statement that aired on Good Morning America. To go along with the news Taylor also released a re-recorded version of her 2008 single, “Love Story”. The new versions if officially called “Love Story (Taylor’s Version). Swift wasn’t kidding when she committed to re-recording her records that had a contract under Big Machine records. She is moving quickly and creatively to finish all the other records that were previously assign to that label. Swift confirmed this back in 2019 that she would be re-recording Taylor Swift (2006), Fearless (2008), Speak Now (2010), Red (2012), 1989 (2014) and 2017’s Reputation as a way to offset the controversial selling of her music by Big Machine Label Group.
She also recently made history at the Grammy’s by becoming the first female artist to ever win Album of the Year three times.
