YG has appeared to accuse Saweetie of cheating on him after getting into an argument that led to the police being called.
In a since-deleted post on his Instagram Stories on Tuesday (August 13), the West Coast rapper posted emojis of a lion and a cheetah, appearing to imply that his girlfriend and collaborator had been lying and cheating.
Fans on social media were convinced of the meaning behind YG’s cryptic post, with one writing: “Lion ahh cheetah… okay got it.”
“Ngl that’s kind of clever [crying face emoji],” another said, while a third user joked: “Imagine a grown man subbing you with jungle cat emojis.”
YG has yet to clarify his post or comment on the speculation, while Saweetie has also yet to respond.
The post comes just a couple of days after it was revealed that the Hip Hop power couple were involved in a heated argument that resulted in cops being called.
According to TMZ, the disagreement happened on Saturday (August 11) at the home they share in the Los Angeles area. The issue reportedly stemmed from “some cell phone drama” and was so heated that officers had to separate the two.
However, cops eventually determined that no one had gotten physical, so after making sure they’d both calmed down, YG and Saweetie were left alone. A noncriminal report was taken as part of protocol.
The rappers have been dating on-and-off since April 2023, during which time Saweetie has become embroiled in the feud between her ex Quavo and Chris Brown, with the R&B singer claiming he had sex with her while she was in a relationship with the Migos rapper.
On his vicious diss track “Weakest Link,” Brown addressed Quavo’s rumored fling with his ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran and in turn made an explosive allegation of his own: “You fucked my ex-ho, that’s cool, I don’t give no fuck, lil n-gga / ‘Cause I fucked yo’ ex when you were still with her, bitch, I’m up, lil n-gga.”
Quavo himself had previously alluded to Saweetie cheating on him.
“I said ‘Caresha, please’ ’cause she too messy / Bitch fucked my dawg behind my back but I ain’t stressin’ / You wanted the gang? You shoulda just said it, we would’ve just blessed it / Now shit got messy,” he rapped on his 2022 song “Messy.”
While Huncho didn’t name names, many listeners believed he was referring to his cousin and Migos cohort Offset, suggesting it was the reason behind the group’s sudden breakup earlier in 2022.
Other fans speculated that Quavo was talking about fellow Atlanta rapper Lil Baby, who was rumored to have had a fling with Saweetie in 2021.
