BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) – The Butler County Sheriff’s Office released surveillance video of a good Samaritan stopping the man suspected of stealing an elderly woman’s purse at the Lemon Township Kroger on Dec. 5. The woman yelled about her purse being taken.
Deshawn Pressley told Local 12 that he saw the man run past him and he ran after him. “God wasn’t letting me let this guy getaway.”
Surveillance video shows Pressley following the man out of the store. He tackles him and throws a few punches until the police arrive.
Butler County deputies called Pressley a hero for stopping the man without knowing if he was armed.
They arrested Derek Vaughn. He’s locked up on $55,000 bond on felony charges of robbery and theft.
