Daiva Kairevičiūtė, an artist from Lithuania, crafts drawings that reflect on femininity— through the various stages of life and shades of identity. Her figures, often rendered in black, contrast with the pops of floral hues or creatures that inhabit her works.
“The author says her work could be short stories about herself, her moments, her gaze and her movement,” the gallery ArtLofter says. “Each drawing is a stagnant movement that has a depth in a black shaped vessel. Black is a symbolic ocean, absorbing all existential experiences in which new and old forms emerge and flow … Movement betrays it, and red, green, or blue, like a refreshing river, paints this momentary emotion.”
