Cloud computing is one of the most significant innovations in modern technology. Since the development and distribution of personal computers, privacy and security have always been factors concerned by great manufactures like IBM, Dell, HP, Apple and many others. These privacy and security concerns are more prevalent today than ever before. The reason for this is because there are more technology users with access to public and private networks now more than ever, which makes cybersecurity something that should be baked into cloud computing resources rather than being bolted on. Teradata, a cloud computing analytics firm, understands this and has developed a reputation of being exceptional at providing cloud computing resources for consumers.
Recently, Teradata announced that its Vantage service will be available on Google Cloud. Vantage, a software-as-a-service offering, will give Google Cloud users access to its collected information regarding data and analytics, and also information indicating where information is stored: either in the digital cloud, a cloud computing warehouse, or a hybrid between the two. Google Cloud as a standalone service also provides access to data and analytics, but Google and its partnership with Teradata will provide users with a broader spectrum of data and more insight into key areas of cloud computing. Google and Vantage together will significantly increase scalability for its users.
The goal of the partnership is to offer users more flexibility with their cloud services. Google and Vantage will be able to accommodate users with any type of use of cloud computing, for any reason.
Small businesses that use cloud services and are on their way to becoming medium-sized businesses, will have the flexibility to use cloud data and storage for connecting new employees with resources, or expanding the amount of encrypted data and having more options as to where to store and how to transmit such sensitive company data. It also works for casual consumers. A PC gamer could use Vantage to have more space for saving progress in their games and also use the platform for encrypted communication while playing online with others. Teradata is committed to providing solutions for on-premise, hybrid and multi-cloud environments for individual consumers as well as businesses of any size.
Teradata also places an emphasis on privacy and security through the deployment of Vantage. Internet users will need a subscription to Vantage in order to integrate it with Google Cloud, they will receive the following benefits: computing and storage resources, environment management, and faster access to data and analytics. Teradata often provides updates and patches for Vantage in order to keep it running as a private and secure cloud computing solution.
Integrating Vantage with Google Cloud offers endless scalability. It will be able to provide cloud resources for larger companies and still give them options to expand their cloud resources. Google and Teradata have both affirmed that integration between their two platforms will be a simple process similar to the installation of software. The same is true for users that will be migrating encrypted data from Google Cloud to Vantage. The resources that Vantage uses for computing and storage run independently from each other; therefore, the amount of saved data in the cloud will have no barring on the use of the cloud for computing purposes (running virtual machines, access to multiple operating systems, etc.).
Teradata Vantage on Google Cloud is now available in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Canada and Australia. They are planning on a worldwide release later in 2020.
