The WWW Wednesday meme This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and was revived by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words and is a great way to do an update on your reading and plans. I know lots of people do this one every week, but my being such a slow reader, you’d all get bored seeing the same thing week after week. Plus, I’m usually scheduling post far ahead of time, so they’d go out of date if I tried to schedule these in advance. However, my August feels like a long month, so… here we go again.
To take part all you have to do is answer the following three questions:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
As my regular readers know, I usually read one book on my Kindle and one book in print, so you get two for the price of one with this meme. So, here we go!
What am I currently reading?
On my Kindle: I just started reading “The Briar Club” by
. This isn’t an ARC, but rather one that I didn’t get permission to read before it was publish. That shouldn’t be a surprise, because I’ve been a fan of Quinn’s since I read and loved her “The Alice Network!” In Print: Funny thing about my TBR jar; I pulled this book title just as I was getting close to finishing “Forever, Interrupted” by Taylor Jenkins Reid, but… then changed my mind. So, I popped the title back into my TBR jar, and when I was getting ready to write this post, I dipped into it again. Well, even after a good mixing, I once again pulled “The Secret Life of Albert Entwistle” by Matt Cain.
What did I recently finish reading?
On my Kindle: I just finished “The Book of George” by Kate Greathead. My review will be published next week, although the release date is October 8th. In Print: As I noted above, I changed my mind about dipping into my TBR jar, and decided I wanted something short instead. What I picked was “The Amazing Mrs. Pollifax” by Dorothy Gilman, which is the second book in the Mrs. Pollifax series. I don’t know if I’ll keep reading this series, mostly because the prices on Better World Books have quadrupled, and that doesn’t include shipping! But if I find the next one at a good price, I just might. In any case, you’ll see my review for this very soon.
What do I think I’ll read next?
On my Kindle: Next up on my Kindle will be “The Love Elixir of Augusta Stern” by Linda Cohen Loigman. According to Goodreads: “On the cusp of turning eighty, newly retired pharmacist Augusta Stern is adrift. When she relocates to Rallentando Springs—an active senior community in southern Florida—she unexpectedly crosses paths with Irving Rivkin, the delivery boy from her father’s old pharmacy—and the man who broke her heart sixty years earlier.” This is one of those books I that the author asked me to read and review, which isn’t always a good omen (nor does the fact that what I put here is only about a quarter of the actual summary). However, I’ve already seen a couple reviews of this, and so far, so good. Let’s hope I agree with them.
In Print: Well, to be totally honest, I just don’t know, and since I just started reading Albert, I have no idea if I’ll want to dip into my TBR jar again, or finally finish my Tommy & Tuppence re-reading challenge.
Have you read any of these books? Let me know in the comments! Thanks in advance.
