Book Description:
Home alone? Think again…
Anya is enjoying a relaxing bath when she hears a noise in the roof. Through the open bathroom door, she sees the attic hatch swing open, and a masked figure drops to the floor. Thirty seconds later, Anya is dead.
Across town, Anya’s old school friend, Julia, sees an online video of a masked figure climbing out of an attic. She suddenly realises why the footage is eerily familiar. It was filmed inside her house.
Why would a stranger target Julia? Unless of course, it’s not a stranger at all…
No secret is safe in this brand new twisty thriller from Andrea Mara.
My Thoughts:
Julia and her family have recently moved back to Dublin and are living in a gated community which you would think would have you feeling secure, think again! The house would be most people’s dream home but after a video is posted online that was obviously filmed in their house, it freaks not just Julia and her family out but the reader also. Every little creak and noise has Julia and her son especially on edge and boy does it make for some truly nail-biting reading.
There are quite a few threads running alongside each other and you don’t know who to trust. I kept going back and forth with certain characters as to whether they had anything to do with recent events but there are some wonderful red herrings that throw you off and it seriously messes with your head.
Someone in the Attic is not one you want to read on a night, when you are on your own. It totally creeped me out and am surprised it didn’t give me nightmares! The tenser the story got, the faster I was trying to read as I was desperate to know who was behind it all. It didn’t disappoint and the way the author wraps everything together at the end, was just perfect. Honestly, it ticked every single box. Truly chilling!
