Snoop Dogg fans have declared a return to form for the rapper on his new collab with LaRussell.
The artists took to Instagram on Thursday (August 15) to tease a new collaboration, and Snoop devotees are hailing the verse as proof that the OG is still in top form.
The clip begins with the Doggfather saying: “He had a flight to catch but I was like, hold on ‘cuh. You really wanna catch that flight or you wanna come do something with unc’? Come on, man, it’s ya uncle, man, I’m right by the airport. So I bribed him, end up coming through.”
LaRussell kicks off the rapping, but it’s Snoop’s snippet that left fans wanting more.
He spits: “Six four dippin’, crippin’, hittin’ switches/ Nowadays I can’t even count up all my bitches/ Which is specific to how I get my digits/ Now bag it all up/ Now we can add to my riches.”
LaRussell captioned the post: “SNOOP DOGG!!!!!!! THE DOGGFATHER HIMSELF HAS SPOKEN!!!! THIS IS HIP-HOP!Y’ALL HAVE WITNESSED ME GO FROM MY MOM’S GARAGE TO MEETING OBAMA! [three crying laughter emojis] WHAT A LIFE!!!! LARUSSELL X @snoopdogg COMING SOON!!!”
One user commented on the post: “YEAHHH!! Unc blessed him one time! What a life. [palms raised emoji].” Another simply added: “Snoop is king.” A third concluded: “Snoop ain’t loss a step.”

The LaRussell collab isn’t the only new music on the horizon from Snoop.
Earlier this week, Dr. Dre upped the excitement for his and Snoop Dogg‘s forthcoming album Missionary by calling it “some of the best music” he’s ever made.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight following his recent Olympics performance, the legendary producer shared more details about the eagerly anticipated project, which he’s confident will be another jewel in his acclaimed catalog.
When asked about working on Missionary versus Snoop’s 1993 debut Doggystyle, which he also produced, Dre said: “It was much more fun, to be honest, because we were kids at that time. Snoop may have been 18 or 19 years old and I think I’m six years older than him, so we were kids at that time.
“This one’s gonna show a different level of maturity with his lyrics and with my music. I feel like this is some of the best music I’ve done in my career […] I’m not playing.”
He added: “The musicians I’m working with right now and some of the writers in the studio that are helping us… Snoop is really excited about this and so am I. I think people are gonna really enjoy this.”
Dre also revealed that he and Snoop are close to finishing the album and are aiming for a November release, which would coincide with the 31st anniversary of Doggystyle (which falls on November 23).
