Netizens have blamed YG Entertainment’s “greed.”
Photo of numerous empty seats at TREASURE‘s recent fan meet event in Tokyo have taken the internet by storm, igniting a wave of criticism and debate among fans.
A post on Pann went viral with over 40,000 views, claiming TREASURE’s fanmeet had failed to sell tickets in the third level.
Today’s TREASURE Tokyo 3rd floor fan meet was a total failure in Japan, too.

Many fans argue that the situation isn’t entirely the group’s fault but rather a consequence of rushed planning. TREASURE’s Tokyo performances were reportedly added at the last minute, making it the third show in a series that fans found hard to attend due to the sheer number of events.
YG Entertainment scheduled a staggering 23 fan meets in Japan this year, with nearly 50 performances overall, stretching fans’ financial and time resources thin.
Fans in the comments were quick to point out that this intensive schedule reflects a prioritization of profit over the well-being of both the artists and their fans. Some even argue that TREASURE — who seems to spend more time in Japan than in Korea — feel more like a Japanese idol group than a K-Pop act.
- “It’s not a failure; it’s just that the fan meet tour was rushed. The Tokyo performances were added last minute, making it the third show there. If you look at the total number of events, it’s crazy — YG arranged 23 fan meets in Japan alone, so fans couldn’t attend all of them. They’re performing almost 50 times in Japan this year. Fans don’t have unlimited money; how can they go to all of them?”
- “They’re obsessed with money… Aren’t they just Japanese idols at this point? They spend more time in Japan than in Korea, so how can they call it K-Pop? LOL.”
- “They don’t even let them have a comeback, just endless tours in Japan.”
- “This is proof of how terribly they’re managed. Even groups more popular than them in Japan don’t do this. Japanese fans rarely complain like this, so they must be really fed up to tell them to stop coming.”
- “Treasure is the only group bringing in money for YG right now, so they’re overworking them. As a team, they’re being pushed to their limits.”
