In a conversation with People Magazine, Sarah commended King Charles and the Princess of Wales for openly sharing their experiences with cancer while attending the launch of the Youth Council at New York Climate Week alongside her daughter, Princess Beatrice.
The Duchess of York, 64, who had a single mastectomy for breast cancer in 2023 and was later diagnosed with malignant melanoma in 2024, praised their transparency.
Sarah expressed her admiration for Charles and Kate, highlighting how “they are an example to all families going through their own journeys of health.”

She specifically mentioned a heartfelt video where Kate discussed completing chemotherapy, saying, “I love how the Princess reassured everyone, saying, I’m always there for you. I love that video. It was a beautiful video with beautiful words.”
Sarah also reflected on Charles’ visit to the Macmillan Cancer Centre at University College Hospital in London this past April, which marked his first public appearance after revealing his cancer diagnosis.
“That was very brave too, very courageous,” she said, adding, “[he] spoke openly, which was very important to help people and give hope.”
