Record Store Day is a great day for music fans, especially for those who like to listen to their music vinyl. This day reminds music listeners of how things used to be in the past. Before there were music streaming and digital downloads, you actually had to use transportation to get to your local music store and buy music on a variety of objects including, CDs, cassette tapes and vinyl records, Record Store Day 2021 is nostalgic and features some new music for the very first time.
Record Store Day 2021 has done something it has never done before. According to Craft Records, they have announced 12 new exclusive vinyl releases for Record Store Day 2021 that will be available during both days for the celebration in June and July.
The new vinyl music will be available at participating local music stores on June 12th and July 17th. Craft Recordings has selected a diverse selection of music to be released on vinyl. Titles include a remastered version of John Martyn’s 1998 collection of blues covers, The Church With One Bell, as well as a deluxe edition of the extremely popular 1066 blues trilogy Chicago/The Blues/Today! The Jazz Dispensary series is making a return with The Dank D-Funk Blend, Vol. 2-which features many jazz artists including Ray Barretto, Esther Marrow and Cal Tjader.
Fans will also have their first opportunity to collect the first ever 7-inch pressing of “Baseball Theme,” from the Vince Guaraldi Trio’s Jazz Impressions of a Boy Named Charlie Brown. Other exclusive releases include a 40th-anniversary release of Celia Cruz and Willie Colon’s Celia Y Willie; a special 30th-anniversary edition of Jonathan Richman’s Having a Party With Jonathan Richman; a 15-year anniversary pressing of Evanescence’s The Open Door, and Oddities & Extras featuring rare music from Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductees The Zombies.
