PnB Rock‘s mother Deannea Allen has hit out at the late rapper’s alleged killer after he denied involvement in the murder.
42-year-old Freddie Trone is one of two men on trial for the murder of the Philadelphia rapper, but has denied driving the vehicle used in the killing, despite it being registered to him.
Speaking outside a Compton courthouse following Trone’s testimony, Allen slammed the murder suspect and accused him of lying.
“His lies are ridiculous. That is ridiculous,” she told Rolling Stone. “The surveillance should speak for itself. They’re trying to say they had nothing to do with it. It’s unacceptable.
“My son was a beautiful person. He tried to take care of everyone. Our last conversation was a half-hour when he was on his way to California. He told me about all the good things he was doing. He was just trying to be better, a little more conscious.”
During his testimony, Trone denied any involvement in the murder of PnB Rock who was allegedly killed by his 17-year-old son. The teen has been deemed not fit to stand trial.
“I understand you’re trying to put together your story. I never had nothing to do with it, I wasn’t there, I didn’t tell nobody to do nothing, I didn’t hand nobody no gun,” he said.
PnB Rock (real name Rakim Allen) was shot and killed in September 2022 during a robbery at Roscoe’s House of Chicken ‘N Waffles in Los Angeles.
Video footage shows Trone in the car park of the restaurant around 30 minutes before the shooting. Prosecutors claim another man, Tremont Jones, tipped off Trone that Rock was at the restaurant, with the plan then to rob the rapper.
Witnesses claim that a man wearing a ski mask walked into the restaurant and demanded the rapper hand over his jewelry before shots were fired.
PnB Rock was shot three times — once in the chest and twice in the back. Trone has repeatedly denied involvement, with his attorney previously claiming no evidence puts him at the crime scene, as well as the fact no money or jewelry were ever recovered.
