Photos: Cabaret Stars Eddie Redmayne and Gayle Rankin Get Sardi’s Portraits
Both were Tony-nominated for their performances in the Kander and Ebb revival at the August Wilson Theatre.
Broadway eatery Sardi’s added yet more star power to its walls recently, with current Broadway Cabaret stars Eddie Redmayne and Gayle Rankin getting their very own caricatures. The duo, both Tony nominees for their performances in the Kander and Ebb musical, are starring in the show through September 14.
On hand to help celebrate the new portraits were original Cabaret star Joel Grey and Tony winner Danny Burstein, who co-starred as Herr Schultz in the 2014 Broadway revival of the musical. Rankin was Fraulein Kost in that production, with her current Broadway outing as Sally Bowles the second time she’s been in a Broadway Cabaret revival. Redmayne is reprising his Olivier-winning performance as The Emcee in the current production.

Redmayne and Rankin will play their final performances in the revival September 14, with American Idol star Adam Lambert and Moana‘s Auli’i Cravalho set to succeed them beginning September 16. The revival continues its run at the Kit Kat Club, née August Wilson Theatre. For tickets, visit KitKat.club.
