Today, Zach Bryan released the music video for his song “Oak Island,” which was included on his recent The Great American Bar Scene album.
It stars Casey Affleck, along with and Jack Martin who plays his younger brother, and was written by Zach along with his girlfriend, Barstool Sports personality Brianna Chickenfry (whose real name is Brianna LaPaglia).
Just like the video for “Nine Ball,” which featured Matthew McConaughey, the video was directed by Matthew Dillon Cohen (known as Bongo), and is incredibly well done.
“Oak Island” tells the story of a guy who leaves work to go take care of some “boys out on Oak Island” who are after his brother. But on his way, he stops at a bar and realizes that his brother has actually joined that crowd – so the narrator ends up laying a beatdown on him himself to keep him from running around with the wrong people.
You can see how that all plays out in the video, but it’s really fun to see Zach bring in big name actors and really do his due diligence in making videos that live up to the quality of the songs themselves. Of course, Casey is a pro, and was the perfect choice to take the lead. I’ve already watched it a couple times, and you should definitely check it out too:
