Dynamic eighteen-year-old twin sister duo Neska and Libi Rose, release the quirky and playful new EP, ‘H‘.
Showcasing swaying rhythms and jazz influence to their indie-pop sound, the duo capture a vibrant accessibility so their alternative sound, jumping between alt-pop and sprawling moments of interesting musical choices and jumps between twinkling keys and fuzzy guitar tones.
The EP’s lead track standout track, “Epithets,” produced by Grammy-winning David Greenbaum, is a prime example of this style, capturing an essence of The Last Dinner Party and David Bowie through it’s vibrant, buoyant approach. Blending bright brass with a main piano, guitar, the track captures a effortlessly flourecent sense of fun. Led by Neska’s vocals and Libi’s harmonies, the track is given. energetic, charasmatic lead melody to pull the track forward.
Reflecting on the track, Neska states it’s about “that weird sense of numbness felt after spending a one on one with someone who caused conflict. The things she wishes she could have expressed in real time”.
The twins have already garnered attention with previous singles ‘Hippo‘ and ‘Aware,’ and their new EP promises to cement their place as artists to watch. But their talents don’t stop at music. Neska and Libi Rose are also making waves in the acting world. Neska recently appeared in Apple TV’s ‘Extrapolations’, alongside David Schwimmer and Daveed Diggs, and starred in Nickelodeon’s ‘Drama Club’. Meanwhile, Libi took on the role of young Angelyne in Peacock’s mini-series ‘Angelyne’. Their work on Nickelodeon’s ‘Nick Shorts’, where they acted and wrote comedy songs, further showcases their creative versatility.
Regularly performing at iconic Los Angeles venues like The Hotel Cafe and Whisky A Go Go, the sisters are quickly building a reputation for their passionate live shows. Collaborating with industry heavyweight David Greenbaum has been a significant milestone, but with ‘H’ now out, it’s clear that Neska and Libi Rose are just getting started.
