The New Art Dealers Alliance will bring together 46 galleries and nonprofit spaces for its inaugural fair in Paris.
Organized in partnership with Paris-based art space The Community, the fair, officially called The Salon by NADA and The Community, will run from October 17–20 at 76 Boulevard de Magenta in the city’s 10th arrondissement. The five-floor venue was previously an office and training center for the SNCF, France’s state-owned rail system.
Hailing from 18 countries and 24 cities, the exhibitors, who are participating by invitation, include a mix of NADA members, blue-chip enterprises, and local outfits that have ongoing relationships with The Community. The fair will also host an art book fair on Saturday, October 19 as part of its programming.
In a statement, NADA executive director Heather Hubbs said, “We are thrilled to partner with The Community on a fresh art fair experience and to contribute to the burgeoning scene in Paris. Together with our amazing network of artists, dealers, and supporters from around the world, we look forward to collaborating and showcasing new voices and presentations in contemporary art.”
Among the high-profile names are 52 Walker, Mitchell-Innes & Nash, Harper’s, and Addis Fine Art. NADA members include Carbon 12, Deli Gallery, Embajada, Et al., Magenta Plains, Sorry We’re Closed, and Voloshyn. Goswell Road, cadet capela, Nil Gallery, and Brigitte Mulholland are Paris-based dealers who are participating.
“The Salon by NADA and The Community represents our founding mission to continually challenge and explore the ways art is experienced,” Tuukka Laurila, founder and director of The Community, said in a statement. “The collaborative initiative’s pioneering spirit is rooted in the historic Parisian Salons, reimagining the art fair format for the 21st century and offering a dynamic exploration of today’s cultural and artistic landscapes.”
