Miley Cyrus is being told she chose badly by putting to “waste” hundreds of bananas that likely didn’t get eaten and were purely used for a photoshoot. The 28-year-old superstar singer is fresh from a series of high-profile and provocative photos for her “Interview Mag” feature – the profiling discussing various aspects of the blonde’s past year also came complete with some edgy and high-end fashion shoots, although it was skimpy stuff as the former “Hannah Montana” star wore more skin than clothing.
While Cyrus has faced backlash in the past over her scantily-clad looks, a sheer undies bend-over as part of the shoot generated little negativity. Rather, it was Miley hiking up her leg between two trees while only wearing a tank top and platform boots that had eyebrows raising – and not because of the ensemble. Miley was surrounded by a huge pile of bananas looking ready for the trash, and fans are taking issue with the food waste.

Scroll for the photo. Cyrus, who wore Chanel, plus the Gucci brand whose fragrances she now fronts, was photographed leaning back against a tree trunk and resting her other leg on another nearby trunk. The “Midnight Sky” singer, clad in only a yellow and spaghetti strap tank, also sported massive and loud pink platforms, and she was yanking a leg up for effect against the tree. The grassy outdoor setting hosted a huge pile of peeled bananas – the fruit and singer Gwen Stefani were mentioned in a caption as Miley told her 151 million followers:
!Let me hear you say, this shit is bananas

Over 9,000 users liked a reply reading: “Plz give to some one who doesn’t get food to eat.” Another user, meanwhile, called it a “huge waste of food.”
“DON’T WASTE FOOD GIRL,” a third added, with a fourth chiming in to tell the blonde: “I feel like this is a huge waste of food girl.”
Miley might be getting dubbed wasteful now, but it’s worth remembering phase 1 of the global pandemic, one seeing the former “Hannah Montana” star plead with the public to stop buying all the soup, this as millions entered panic buying mode. Cyrus took to Twitter in March 2020, telling her followers:
“Be thoughtful. Respectful. Compassionate. HUMAN. while preparing for social distancing…. NO ONE needs every soup in the store. The more we hoard the more expensive and sparse necessities will become, leaving many without essentials. This is a great time to practice restraint.” The singer, at the time kicking off her “BrightMinded” Instagram series, one bringing cheer as the world adapted to quarantine life, continued:
“It’s incredibly difficult to make smart decisions while panicking but think twice before following the fear and being inconsiderate. There is enough to go around if we take care of one another. This is a beautiful time to LEAD!”
Miley does not appear to have addressed the bananas backlash.
