Boo, a rising music producer and artist from North East England, is redefining trance with a unique blend of ethereal soundscapes and influences from early 2000s club trends. Her debut EP, Winged Victory, dropped in June 2024 and features four captivating tracks that merge dreamlike ambience, hypnotic vocals, and trippy pads with heavy beats.
The EP’s title is a nod to the iconic Winged Victory of Samothrace statue, a votive monument that she saw in Le Louvre. It represents the Greek goddess Nike and symbolizes strength and triumph. These combative feelings are mixed with vulnerability in the opening title track, where she sings: “Who am I if I can’t fight?.”
For Boo, this project is deeply personal, representing her own journey of renewal after navigating a difficult chapter in her life. The EP explores themes such as rebuilding, isolation, as well as femininity. This theme is particularly present in the stand-out track “Hyper Feminine,” that comes with a video co-created with Polly Byatt and videographer Will Creswick.

Art and utopian visions collide in Boo’s trance
Hot on the heels of her EP, Boo continues to push boundaries with her latest single, “Paradise Regained.” This track explores the concept of utopia, drawing inspiration from the enchanting beauty of bioluminescent oceans and the breathtaking artwork of J.M.W. Turner‘s Temptation on the Pinnacle. With “Paradise Regained,” Boo takes the listeners on a sonic voyage through nature’s wonders, reflecting her fascination with art and the pursuit of an ideal world.
