Lil Baby‘s arrest for illegal weapon possession in Las Vegas saw him get heated with cops, newly surfaced footage shows.
In a video of the arrest obtained by TMZ, the Atlanta rapper can be seen in handcuffs outside of the nightclub Encore as police officers search him.
Baby quickly grows belligerent during the arrest, insulting the security that appeared to alert the authorities to the weapon in his possession and offering them $200,000 to help him out.
The 4PF founder also insists that he had a permit for the gun and yells, “Let me go!” but the cops continue to search his body for any other weapons.
Baby then begins cursing out the arresting officers and gets in their face while saying: “If I go to jail with a gun, y’all n-ggas fired so make sure y’all check me good!”
He also implores one officer to check his “nuts,” claiming that’s where he was carrying a gun.
The rapper continues to shout at the cops until he was eventually led into the back of a police vehicle and taken to the Clark County Detention Center.
Lil Baby (real name Dominique Jones) was booked on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, a felony in Nevada, although it’s unclear if he has been formally charged.
The 29-year-old was released from jail after posting a $5,000 bond. His attorneys argue that he had a legitimate permit for the weapon.
“To be clear, Dominique Jones has a valid Georgia Carrying a Concealed Weapon (CCW) Permit,” Baby’s lawyers Drew Findling and David Chesnoff told TMZ. “On his behalf, we are actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding his arrest in Las Vegas.”
Nevada does not recognize concealed weapon permits issued in Georgia and cops claim they have video footage of Baby being passed the weapon in the club.
He is due in court in Las Vegas on October 1.
Lil Baby did not seem overly concerned about his legal troubles as shortly after his release, he posted a picture on Instagram of himself relaxing on a private jet with large stacks of cash.
He also seemingly blamed the incident on alcohol, writing: “[tumbler glass emoji] + [baby emoji] = [skull emoji],” adding: “Vegas 10 Me 0.”
The rapper has since deactivated his Instagram account.
Lil Baby was in Vegas celebrating James Harden‘s 35th birthday, with the NBA star hosting a party at the popular nightclub Drai’s that was also attended by Travis Scott, Chris Brown and Kevin Durant.
A viral video from the night showed Baby generously tipping the staff of Mexican restaurant Toca Madera $11,000.
It is not yet known if Baby was arrested during the celebrations or in the hours after the star-studded party had finished.
