In the definition respect, there is a big aspect of light, space, and time applied in the ordinary reality of the artists when it comes to art creation. There is a point where, using our perceptual, sensory-motor apparatus, we try to disambiguate forms as they appear before our eyes. Exploring materiality with artists, means to explore the viewer’s experience, focusing on scale, which continues through work. If we mention terms such as light, space, and time as minimalist aesthetic, among the primary ideas that distinguished the achievements of the light and space artists we embrace non-traditional artistic media. A quick natural and artificial light supports this notion of non-traditional art forms. It is important to recognize the artists’ intentions to provide the driving force. Maybe it is a goal of artists, but not just to simply create a new style of the art object, but to create a new kind of viewing experience. This is perhaps most evident in the artist’s creation of immersive environments effect, which engages the viewer’s entire body and sense of perception via the manipulation of space, light, shadow etc… Light is a powerful substance and people have a primal connection to it. And, something so powerful demands a fragile aspect of presenting light, space, and time in one. Light, space, and time concept encourages interest in experimental psychology and human perception, as the influence of the artist’s long projects. Due to the complexity of the concepts relating to light, space, and time, the light and space artists often work with engineers and technology experts to find technical solutions for a good reason.
In the spirit of the concept of light, space, and time, Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery in the US announces an art call for the gallery’s 5th Annual “Patterns, Textures & Forms” Online Juried Art Competition for the month of August 2021. The gallery invites 2D and 3D artists, also photography and digital arts, and artists from around the world to make online submissions to be included in September 2021 online group art exhibition. Their focus is something closer to experiments with perception as it is the “light trying to break through a seam … the edge seems to dematerialize … by casting a shadow that activates the surrounding space.“ The gallery encourages entries from all artists, no matter of nationality to join this competition by submitting their best art to match the “Patterns, Textures & Forms” theme, the best representational or abstract art.
The deadline for this submission for the work in any media is by August 27, 2021. The top 10 winning artists will be promoted and circulated to over 550+ major news outlets, including the US Premium News Outlets Syndication, ABC, CBS, CW, Fox & NBC affiliated broadcasting/station websites, also Google News & Bing News.
