Latinos LOSING IT Over White South Africans Crossing the Border

Reese Waters’ recent video, titled “Latinos LOSING IT Over White South Africans Crossing the Border,” delves into the controversy surrounding the U.S. government’s decision to grant refugee status to white South Africans, primarily Afrikaners, under the Trump administration’s Mission South Africa initiative. This policy has sparked significant backlash, particularly among Latino communities, who perceive a stark contrast in how different immigrant groups are treated.Wikipedia

🎥 Video Overview

In the video, Waters highlights the double standards in U.S. immigration policy. He points out that while Latino immigrants often face stringent immigration enforcement and deportation, white South Africans are being welcomed and fast-tracked for asylum. Waters uses satire and commentary to underscore the perceived racial and political biases influencing these policies.

📰 Background: Mission South Africa

Launched in February 2025, Mission South Africa is a U.S. initiative aimed at granting asylum to white South Africans, citing systemic violence and racial discrimination linked to South Africa’s post-apartheid land reform policies. The Trump administration justified the program by alleging that white South African farmers were victims of a “genocide” and state-backed persecution. This move has been met with criticism, both domestically and internationally, with many questioning the validity of the claims and the motivations behind prioritizing this group for asylum.Wikipedia

⚖️ Reactions and Criticism

The policy has drawn sharp criticism from various quarters:

  • Latino communities: Many Latinos view the policy as a blatant example of racial favoritism, especially given the harsh immigration measures they often face.
  • South African government: President Cyril Ramaphosa rejected the premise of the program, arguing that the white minority was not facing persecution that would meet the threshold for refugee status under international law.Wikipedia
  • Human rights organizations: Critics argue that the policy undermines the principles of international asylum law and sets a dangerous precedent.

Latinos in the midst of Maga’s mass deportation frenzy have been systematically profiled, targeted and in many cases, deported. Latinos for Trump are suffering the most knowing they had a hand in the destruction of their own families. That’s some FAFO. But Elon Musk opening the border to let in his fellow White South Africans was a bridge too far.

A flight carrying a group of 59 White South Africans granted refugee status by the Trump administration arrived in the United States on Monday. I guess its Afrikaners First now. They were the first people to be granted refugee status by the Trump administration and are not expected to be the last Afrikaners to come to the US. The South Africans, including children, were greeted upon their arrival at Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia by US Deputy Secretary of State Christoper Landau and Department of Homeland Security Deputy Secretary Troy Edgar. Unlike the ICE agents that are greeting

Latinos as they go to work, church or school. I was wondering when they would sound off and I wasn’t disappointed. But they spared no one, not Trump, not the White South Africans, not Latinos for Trump, who they blame for their current circumstance. The Trump administration has moved to not only admit but to expedite the processing of Afrikaners as refugees for alleged discrimination. At the same time, it has suspended all other refugee resettlement, including for people fleeing war and famine.
