LaChanze Brings 1-Night-Only NYC Concert to 54 Below September 15
The evening with the Tony-winning actor and producer benefits the non-profit cabaret space.
Tony winner LaChanze makes her 54 Below debut September 15 with a one-night-only concert benefiting the famed cabaret venue.
The evening will feature music from LaChanze’s past roles as well as Broadway classics, Great American Songbook standards, and more. Show time is 8 PM.
LaChanze’s extensive list of Broadway credits includes originating the roles of Ti Moune in Once on This Island and Celie in The Color Purple, the latter of which earned her her first Tony for Best Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical. Notable stage performances also include roles in Summer: The Donna Summer Musical, Ragtime, If/Then, and many more.
In recent years, LaChanze has also received Tony Awards as a producer for Broadway shows including Best Musical winners Kimberly Akimbo and The Outsiders, as well as the 2022 revival of Topdog/Underdog.
On screen, LaChanze has played roles in East New York, The Blacklist, The Help, Law & Order: SVU, and Disney’s Hercules, among others.Â
Benefit tickets include a three-course dinner and open bar. Premium ticket holders are invited to a special post-show meet and greet with LaChanze.Â
