Beats Electronics, founded by Dr. Dre and record exec Jimmy Iovine, took the world by storm when it launched in 2006. On Thursday night, “The Tonight Show” host teased his next big project with Beats By Dre, as he rocked a head-to-toe yellow look—shoes, headphones, and all. “Mustard on the BEATS,” he teased with a wink. “Dream collab with @BeatsByDre. Coming soon.”
Ahead of the launch, Jimmy Fallon sent a pair of Beats to his friend, Kim Kardashian, who had quite the reaction–especially the color.

Kim K also put her mark on Beats with her own design—the Beats Fit Pro earbuds—created to match the reality star’s iconic color palette.

‘Beats x Kim’ Collection Comes In Three Colors
The “Beats x Kim” collection reimagines the Beats Fit Pro earbuds in three signature Kim colors: Moon (light), Dune (medium), and Earth (deep). Much like her SKIMS brand, these Kim K Special Edition Fit Pro earbuds bring a fresh, minimalist approach, allowing wearers to “express their identity through color by creating monochromatic or contrasting looks,” according to Beats.
“I think I would just want people to understand that this is also a fashion accessory that’s reusable,” says the multi-hyphenate entrepreneur in the video. “Since you’re wearing something every day, I wanted [the earbuds] to be able to blend in. And I’ve never seen any tech products, especially headphones be neutral colors,” she said, per Rolling Stone.

However, he gets sidetracked when he notices another meeting room playing Kim K’s ad followed by his own.
“So as you know, we can only choose one set of headphones,” one of the corporate folks says.
“Kim’s are beautiful,” someone comments, while another adds, “Jimmy’s are gross.” Naturally, the late-night host overhears everything. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry—I’m up against Kim Kardashian?” Jimmy interjects. “That’s not fair. Hers are sleek, chic, they’re…”
