Kanye West fans think he may have used AI to replicate his own voice on his new Ty Dolla $ign collaborative album, Vultures 2.
On album track “SKY CITY,” fans noticed that Yeezy’s voice sounded odd, and that certain bars sounded pasted.
One user took to X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday (August 3) and shared the song. They wrote: “Did Kanye partly use AI on his SKY CITY verse? It feels like someone gave him a ref and they just deepfaked the voice. Theres also the random punch ins that sound authentic but are way too noticeable Wtf does this man delay his albums for??? 😂.”
Another user concurred, writing: “Man vultures 2 was so ASS, first him saying “fuck his ex wife” like 7 times, Then on top of that, the unfinished/bad mixing, and why did bro change the demo track on lifestyle???? AND ON TOP OF THAT AN AI KANYE VERSE????? WTF WAS BRO THINKING 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️.”
A third did some song-by-song analysis and wrote: “For those who can’t hear it the AI Verse on Sky City First video is the AI Ye Verse 2nd part is the Punch-in Ye did (diff quality, more human take) I thought it was Newtone or Melodyne at first but the AI artifacts are there This was 100% a deliberate choice, no clue why.”
A fourth took issues with the criticism, adding: “New Kanye fans are super annoying because this one of his best verses since life of Pablo. Not AI either, bro just punched in at points.”

The 16-song project from Yeezy and Ty came out in the early morning hours of Saturday (August 3), just one day after their announced release date of August 2.
Vultures 2 was plagued with delays since missing its initial release date of March 8. Kanye West later announced that it would drop on May 3, but the project again failed to arrive with no explanation.
Despite this, Ty Dolla $ign repeatedly insisted that the album is still on the way, saying during a livestream with Russian YouTuber Vitaly Zdorovetskiy in May: “It’s dropping ASAP. Vultures 2 is on the way. It’s coming soon. Any day now.”
At one point, Ty even said that the project would be released exclusively on Kanye’s YZY app instead of traditional streaming services — an idea that had been floated by Ye previously, and that turned out not to be the case.
The ¥$ duo were also recently hit by a huge leak of tracks from various Vultures sessions, with dozens of songs surfacing online in near-finished states.
