The highly-anticipated Netflix film “Uprising” has officially announced its release date!
On September 6, Netflix confirmed that the historical action film “Uprising” will premiere on October 11.
Set during the Japanese invasion of Korea, “Uprising” follows the story of two childhood friends—Jong Ryeo (Park Jung Min), the son of Joseon’s most prominent military family, and his servant Cheon Young (Kang Dong Won). As adults, they find themselves on opposing sides, with Jong Ryeo serving as the closest military officer to the self-serving King Seonjo (Cha Seung Won), while Cheon Young becomes a soldier in the righteous army.
The newly released poster features a hand wrapped in red cloth holding up a sword, symbolizing the chaos and turmoil of the war-torn era.
Kang Dong Won portrays Cheon Young, a servant of low status but with extraordinary swordsmanship, while Park Jung Min portrays Jong Ryeo, the only son of Joseon’s most elite military family, as both fight against their fates.
The film also stars Cha Seung Won as King Seonjo, the monarch who abandons his people during the invasion, Kim Shin Rok as Bum Dong, a resilient righteous army fighter, Jin Sun Kyu as Kim Ja Ryeong, a yangban (aristocrat) who becomes a wise and loyal righteous army commander, and Jung Sung Il as Kenshin, a ruthless Japanese commander.
“Uprising” will premiere on October 11.
