War is coming in House of the Dragon Season 3. The Season 2 finale teased one of House of the Dragon’s most pivotal fights, the Battle of the Gullet. The pieces have come together for this battle, with Tyland Lannister securing an alliance with the Triarchy and Corlys Velaryon heading to sea to join the blockade.
All roads lead to the Gullet, where this impending showdown at sea will change the course of the war for the Greens and the Blacks. After the Season 2 finale, House of the Dragon co-creator Ryan Condal spoke with reporters (via EW) about the naval clash in Season 3 and how it’s shaping up to be the biggest battle in show history.
“Obviously, to anybody that’s seen the finale, we are building to that,” Condal said. “That event will happen very shortly in terms of the storytelling of this, of House of the Dragon. Based on what we know now, I mean, it should be the biggest thing to date that we’ve pulled off, and we just wanted to have the time and the space to do that at a level that is going to excite and satisfy the fans in the way that is deserved.”
Condal added, ” I will just say if Rook’s Rest and the Red Sowing are any indication, [with] the team that we have together, we’re going to pull off a hell of a win with the Battle of the Gullet in the future.”
