Karyn Ann is alive to the issues bedevilling the society, at least in the American context. Her newest single, “Big Money, Deep Pockets”, offers though-provoking commentary. The song arrives at a time that the country is in a polarizing electioneering period.
Karyn Ann comments. “The song is a reflection of not just my thoughts and concerns, but of many peoples, both nationally and globally. Corporate greed isn’t just a U.S. problem, and I hope this song serves as a reminder that where we are as a society doesn’t need to be where we stay. Differences are always going to be a part of being human, but how we coexist and respond needs to change.”
Musically, the retro-soul track is quite captivating. It serves as the third single taken from Karyn’s upcoming project: an EP titled The Consequence of Fear (due Oct. 11).
