Today (July 9th) is the ninth birthday of the BTS army, according to an official statement made on behalf of the band. Its international fanbase has been sharing viral content on Twitter and other social media platforms. Google’s Arts & Culture platform is currently displaying a new street view of creations inspired by the band. BTS x Street Galleries is an online exhibition that connects fans with BTS’ favorite artworks.
Each member of the group has contributed their favorite art pieces and places to visit. According to The Verge, J-Hope has decorated the UN General Assembly (where the band gave an address and filmed a music video last year). RM’s favorite works are on display at Seoul’s Namdaemun-where the group performed at the 2021 Global Citizen Live festival.
RM recently discussed his art collection on the Art Basel podcast. V, who has talked about the Field Museum in Chicago as being one of his favorite places to visit, currently is interested in photography-particularly a creative snapshot of a rowboat. “Everyone knows I’m handsome, just like this hunk Adonis,” Jin wrote regarding Antonia Corradini’s Adonis. “I love taking photos of the clouds because each cloud is completely different to the next,” Jungkook expressed.
Google Arts & Culture platform gives virtual tours of distinguished galleries and tourism locations. The viewership of BTS x Street Galleries may provide an important metric for Google and encourage the technology company to collaborate with other public figures.
Google Arts and Culture feature more than 2,500 galleries. It remains free for any Google user to view. The platform was created in 2011 and its viewership has grown significantly over the last decade. It has contributions from domestic and international galleries. It also serves as a teaching resource for students.
In the last fiscal year, Google generated $256.7 million in revenue. It is unclear how the free Arts and Culture platform factors into the company’s books. However, since the platform has viewership in the millions each year, it would be accurate to pinpoint that Google Arts & Culture combined with other free Google services, continue to be an effective way to build and connect with audiences.
