In Madden NFL 23, one of the most anticipated aspects is the reveal of player ratings. And fans really look forward is which superstars will become members of the “99 club.” The Madden 99 Club is an exclusive tier of NFL talent that represents the pinnacle of video game prestige, reserved solely for earned and maintained on-field excellence. A 99 OVR is the highest possible rating in Madden, and 99 Club status elevates a few players above even the league’s most skilled superstars. So in this guide, let’s look at the list of players that have joined the club this season.
- Trent Williams, OT, San Francisco 49er
The left tackle for the 49ers Trent Williams was the first member of the Madden 99 club to be inducted. After all, he was the first offensive lineman in history to receive a 99 overall rating.
Williams’ off-the-field accolade follows a stellar 2021 season in which he earned his ninth Pro Bowl selection and the only first-team All-Pro honors of his 11-year career. With the Pro Bowler in the trenches, San Francisco finished 10-7, closing out the year with an appearance in the NFC Championship versus the Los Angeles Rams. So he is arguably the best Left Tackle in the NFL, and this 99 overall rating proves just that. If you want to use him in Madden 23 Ultimate Team, please prepare some Madden 23 Coins in advance.
- Davante Adams, WR, Las Vegas Raiders
Adams is no stranger to Madden’s highest rating as he was a member of the 99 Club in Madden 21 and the 99 Club in Madden 22, all while playing for the Green Bay Packers. With that said, Adams, on the other hand, will start the year on a high note after being traded to the Las Vegas Raiders.
Adams continued to make a case that he is the best receiver in the NFL with a spectacular 2021 season. He finished with 123 catches for 1,553 yards with 11 touchdowns on his way to earning his fifth straight Pro Bowl selection. He also was named a first-team All-Pro for the second consecutive season. Based on his play on the field, he’s certainly well deserving of the rating.
- Myles Garrett, DE, Cleveland Browns
Congratulations are in order for Browns defensive end Myles Garrett. “Flash” is the newest member of the Madden 99 Club.
This will be Myles Garrett’s second straight year in the 99 Club after joining Madden 22 in Week 15 of the 2021 NFL season, after amassing 15 sacks in that time. A first-team All-Pro each of the last two seasons. The Texas A&M product recorded a career-high 16 sacks last season, spending much of the year in the Defensive Player of the Year race.
- Aaron Donald, RE, Los Angeles Rams
On Thursday, 21st July, Donald was announced as the latest member of the 99 club, and now he has the same number of appearances in the club’s history as legendary quarterback Peyton Manning. Here is how Donald was revealed for the sixth time, pure dominance if you ask us.
He’s an unparalleled game-wrecker at defensive tackle, a disruptive force of nature since entering the league as the No. 13 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Donald has logged eight Pro Bowls, seven first-team All-Pros, three Defensive Player of the Year Awards and a Defensive Rookie of the Year in eight pro seasons. Just as he is in real life, Donald is one of the most dominant players in Madden. Beating linemen with Donald is never that difficult, whether you use a power move to bullrush them or a finesse move to go around the blocker in a flash.
Fewer players were included in Madden NFL 23 compared to the previous year, as five players were named to the 99 Club in Madden NFL 22. But there are few accolades as significant to NFL players as earning a slot in the 99 Club. It truly signifies which players are the best of the best. In almost every big moment, you can almost count on these players stepping up to make the game-saving play.
