Netflix is always looking to make new movies and TV Show and one of the best source materials for movies and TV Shows are books. And Netflix has a bunch planned for the next few months and 2025. Keep reading to find out if any of your favorite books will be adapted by Netflix!
Bookworms all want a good adaptation of their favorite books but we know that is rarely the case. Sometimes, a TV show or a movie builds upon a book and is able to succeed where many adaptations fail. Netflix doesn’t have the best track record but they are one of the biggest platforms out there and do help audiences discover new books.
Two books that come to mind that I read after watching the shows was The Witcher books and The Three-Body Problem series. And yes, the books were a lot better. I will say that the first season of The Witcher is one of the best shows of all time. If only they continued doing that but instead, I have given up on the show entirely.
But the good news is that there are a bunch of new book adaptations coming to Netflix in the near future. These adaptions will help these books trend once again and find a new, younger audience that never came across these books before. You can see the full list below!
Books being Adapted by Netflix
Uglies
The first book adaptation on the list is Uglies by Scott Westerfield. This is one of two of Westerfield’s adaptions, the other being an anime series. Joey King, Chase Stokes, and Laverne Cox will be in the sci-fi movie.
Emilia Perez
Maybe one of the biggest adaptation on the list is Emilia Perez. I say that because it has Zoe Saldaña, Selena Gomez, and Karla SofÃa Gascón starring in the multi-lingual film that is based on the novel Écoute by Boris Razon. The star studded lineup will draw a lot of interest and the film will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival
Frankenstein
As a fan of classics, I am excited about Frankenstein being adapted by Netflix. And with Guillermo del Toro directing it, I know it will be worth watching. The movie is still under production but will be released in 2025.
People We Meet On Vacation
The most popular book adaptation on this list is People We Meet On Vacation by Emily Henry. Brett Haley will be directing the romance movie and Tom Blyth and Emily Bader will be starring in it. This is going to be one of the many Henry books being adapted in the second half of this decade.
