The cause of death of former 1017 rapper Enchanting has been revealed, two months after she passed away.
The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office shared on Friday (August 23) that 26-year-old rapper (real name Channing Nicole Larry) died due to an accidental overdose of oxycodone and benzodiazepines.
Oxycodone is a synthetic opioid, while benzodiazepines are a group of depressant drugs commonly used to treat anxiety, insomnia and seizures.
Rumors of Enchanting suffering an overdose quickly circulated following her death, although her family urged the public to stop speculating.
In a statement on social media confirming her death, they wrote: “On behalf of Channing Nicole Larry aka Enchanting we are deeply saddened to announce the death of our sweet and beloved daughter.
“She was so much to so many but she was our daughter. She lived her life with grace and blessed so many with friendship, laughter and love.”
Her family added: “We also appreciate everyone’s respect of our family’s privacy as we continue to navigate through this difficult loss. The cause of death has not yet been determined.”
Enchanting passed away on June 11 following reports that she was in an intensive care unit.

The Shade Room, citing the rapper’s team, attributed her death to “a reported overdose” after a member of her management team allegedly told the outlet that Enchanting was suffering from withdrawals.
“She came to my house the last four days to get clean. She tried her best and I did everything I could to help her, she tried,” the rep said.
Upon hearing the news, 1017 boss Gucci Mane took to social media to share his grief, writing: “So sad to have to say R.I.P to such a great young lady a true star we gone all miss you Chant @luvenchanting.”
Enchanting released two projects on the Atlanta-based label, her 2022 debut No Luv and its follow-up Luv Scarred/No Luv (Deluxe). Her most popular song was “No Luv,” a collaboration with Gucci, Key Glock and fellow 1017 signee Big Scarr (who also died from an accidental overdose in 2022).
