Micheline Laufer focuses her creative works through design, digital art, painting and sculpture. Throughout her career she has made many art galleries, most of them focus on nature.
Laufer’s Eléphanteau 4 depicts the subject in a comfortable position, sitting on the ground and relaxing its legs, its trunk curled to symbolize the subject’s peaceful nature. The art uses curves, lines and shape to create a work that is realistic, and showcases a perspective that could take place at any zoo or in the wild. Another way that it can be seen that the subject is at rest is that its floppy ears are laid on its shoulders instead of flaring outward like it would during travel or danger. There is a juxtaposition between the subject’s head and its upper legs and lower back; this technique creates a realistic shape. The curves of the front legs and head are also juxtaposed with the straight lines of the back and hindlegs. Overall, the subject appears to be in a happy state that is also depicted its expressions.
Laufer artistically displayed a subject that is usually active in a rare moment of tranquility.
Her work shows the joyous pieces of animal life and their place in nature.
