On the outdoor stage, artists from 12 canal countries, as well as Beijing, will be showcasing their talents for an unforgettable musical journey that will transport you around the world. Step inside the Canal Culture Display Tent and be transported through time, as master artisans from both China and abroad demonstrate their skills. This is your chance to immerse yourself in traditional craftsmanship and rare intangible cultural heritage items from various countries, which keep the stories of the canals alive and flowing.
Flavors of the Canal: A Culinary Journey
What’s a festival without food? Prepare your taste buds for a culinary adventure at the Canal Flavors food market. With everything from iconic Beijing street snacks to Germany’s famous sausages, Mexico’s aromatic tortillas, Thailand’s fiery curries and rich Colombian coffee, the market will give you the opportunity to soak in the unique atmosphere of canal-side cuisine from around the world.
Journey Along the Canal: Virtual Tours of World Heritage Sites
To coincide with the 2024 Beijing International Canal Arts Fest, a dedicated online page will also be launched. Here, along with canal-related exhibitions, you can join international artists in a virtual tour exploring ancient landmarks along Beijing’s Central Axis and the Grand Canal, like the Bell and Drum Towers, Jingshan Park, Waning Bridge and more.

- All visitors must register for the event online before being admitted to the venue.
- Proof of the online registration will be redeemed for an admission wristband.
- There will be on-site registration available, however availability will be according to the current number of people in the venue.
- If the venue is temporarily at capacity, those with online reservations made in advance will be given priority admission.
