Debra Messing, Billy Magnussen, Constance Wu, More Cast in Robert O’Hara World Premiere
O’Hara will also direct his new play for Off-Broadway’s MCC Theater.
Initial casting has been announced for MCC Theater’s world premiere of Tony nominee Robert O’Hara’s Shit. Meet. Fan.
Also directed by O’Hara (BLKS, Slave Play), and based on the Lotus Production and Medusa film Perfect Strangers by Paolo Genovese, previews will begin October 10 prior to an official opening October 28 for a limited engagement through November 17 at Off-Broadway’s Newman Mills Theater.
The cast will feature Garret Dillahunt (Hand of God), Genevieve Hannelius (Along for the Ride), Tony nominee Billy Magnussen (Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike), Emmy winner Debra Messing (Will and Grace), Tramell Tillman (Good Night, Oscar), and Golden Globe nominee Constance Wu (Crazy Rich Asians). Additional casting will be announced shortly.
In the upcoming play, which unfolds in real time, every text, every email,
every call must be shared aloud. That’s what a group of long-time
friends gather to play on the night of the eclipse. With the cocktails
flowing, outrageous secrets and
skeletons begin to emerge.
Shit. Meet. Fan. will also feature scenic design by Tony winner Clint Ramos, costume design by Tony nominee Sarafina Bush, lighting design by Alex Jainchill, and sound design by Tony nominee Palmer Hefferan. Imani Champion is the production stage manager. Casting is by The Telsey Office.
The limited engagement is produced in association with Eva Price, Simon Horsman, and Gianni Nunnari.
