Creative Blogging
While there are several online blogging platforms where people can sign-up and discuss any topic they would like, many of them have content restrictions that may prevent a writer who wants to share information on a variety of topics from doing so.
This platform is for all creative mediums, and is flexible in the sense that creative categories can be added based on writer preferences.
Mediums as Arts and Sciences
All creative disciplines are either an art or science or both. Creativity leaves a lasting impression on audiences and observers of creations, which means that expression is an infinite concept that forever lives in the hearts and minds of people who experience museums, art galleries, movies theaters and all other places where people showcase creativity.
However, observing particular mediums as either an art or a science generates the possibly for the artist or anyone who comes in contact with the arts, to gain the opportunity to conduct research and development efforts. There is an unlimited amount of data that can be examined, described and published regarding any artistic medium and its impact on the world.
Humanities, Theatre and Technology
I enjoy the process of putting words together in order to make research papers, essays and other documents. By the time I was four years old, it became clear to me that I was good at putting sentences together in order to express ideas. During high school I had my own blogs that were on different platforms (some of which no longer exist) and it served as a great outlet for me. My sophomore year I took an acting and directing class as an elective, and after performing a monologue the teacher asked why don’t I try out for the school plays? So, I did and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It was doing theatre that made me appreciate the process of collaboration so much more. I began to think about ways in which to fuse my passion for writing with the theatre, which lead me to taking all of the creative and dramatic writing courses at both Saint Louis University and Washington University. Every now and then when I have time, I’ll do freewriting exercises or create a dramatic scene just to keep the wheels churning in my mind.
Now I want to fuse my passions with technology. I am currently working on my MS in Cybersecurity and I feel that it is a good program for me. It will give me the opportunity to use my communication and writing skills for policy development and staff training. It also makes me aware of the different types of technology to use in order to protect systems and networks. As a cyber student, I feel that all of the skills I used to create art can also be applied to Cybersecurity since it is also an art and a science. Through blogging, I hope to sharpen my writing and communication skills in order to begin a career as a cybersecurity analyst (or any of the other related job opportunities). I think blogging also gives me the opportunity to conduct research and development on ideas associated with Cyber, which may spawn innovation and potential collaboration with artistic genres.
