While news broke last week that BTS is looking forward to releasing a new album, the South Korean boyband shared they will take a break before creating new music. The group announced this to their fans on social media with a video clip featuring RM saying, “ I always thought that BTS was different from other groups, but the problem with K-pop and the whole idol system is that they don’t give you time to mature.”
He further stated that a break could afford them the opportunity to establish a new direction for their music.
Their entertainment company, Hybe, said “to be clear, they are not on hiatus but will take time to explore some solo projects at this time and remain active in various different formats.”
BTS has been working consistently since their debut in 2013, the band members and Hybe agree that time away to pursue other endeavors in music will significantly help the group when they return with new music.
