Brad Pitt is staying in the loop about his estranged son Pax’s recovery from the e-bike accident that landed the 20-year-old in the ICU.
While there’s still no pax between Pax and Pitt, a source tells The Post that people close to the family continue to ensure the “Wolfs” star receives ongoing updates on his son’s health.
Pax’s recovery “continues to go in the right direction,” the insider revealed.
Pitt is focused on Pax making a full recovery and wants his son to “get to a good place,” the source added.
Pax rear-ended a car at a red light while riding his e-bike in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles on July 29. Eyewitnesses reportedly thought he was dead.
“His mouth was filled with blood. When [he] was trying to speak, I saw a little tiny stream of blood coming out of the mouth,” one bystander who stepped in to help told Entertainment Tonight.
Pax was transported to a local hospital after paramedics arrived at the scene. He was admitted to the ICU and diagnosed with “complex trauma” after sustaining a major head injury, a minor brain bleed and a hip injury.
Mom Angelina Jolie, 49, reportedly rushed to her son’s side as soon as she got the news, and all of Pax’s siblings visited him during his hospital stay.
The second oldest of Jolie and Pitt’s six children remained in the ICU for a week before being released on August 5.
Mother and son were “deeply grateful for the quick and life-saving action of first responders, and the outstanding medical care he received,” a source told People earlier this month.
Pitt, 60, was “shocked and emotional” and “extremely concerned” about Pax following the accident, TMZ reported.
According to the outlet, the “Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood” actor started receiving a “steady flow of information” from “concerned people around the family” shortly after the crash.
That information continues to flow two weeks after Pax’s release from the ICU, The Post can confirm.
Pitt, a motorcycle enthusiast himself, was allegedly alarmed that Pax was not wearing a helmet at the time he crashed his e-bike. The 20-year-old had previously been involved in multiple accidents in recent months.
Pax’s accident occurred amidst his parents’ contentious eight-year divorce battle.
Pitt and Jolie share five children in addition to Pax: Maddox, 23, Zahara, 19, and Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16.
Jolie adopted Pax in 2007 when he was just 3 years old. In 2008, Pitt legally adopted Pax as well.
The news about Pitt’s hope for Pax’s successful recovery comes on the heels of Shiloh legally dropping her famous father’s last name. After filing a petition to ditch Pitt’s surname on her birthday in May, a judge granted her request. She’s now legally Shiloh Jolie.
