One of the most difficult choices for book readers is whether to reread a favorite book or read new books. But what if we could experience reading a novel we loved for the first time again? Some books overwhelm you with emotions and make you laugh and cry. And today, we will be looking at the books some fans wish they could reread for the first time again.
Books Fans Would Love to Read For the First Time Again
The Xenogenisis
Octavia Butler starts off the list with her sci-fi series The Xenogenisis. Butler is a must read if you love Sci-fi and this series is a good reason why!
“The first book is Dawn. I genuinely cannot stop thinking about it. One of the most interesting and thought-provoking sci-fi series that I’ve ever read.” – –u/Quirky_Dimension1363
Babel
Seeing Babel by R.F. Kuang on this list proves that these fans and this list is a great one. There hasn’t been another novel like Babel and this is a novel I think about often. Kuang has set herself apart from her peers and Babel is one of the many reasons why I will read anything she writes.
“Absolutely incredible novel about the power of linguistics as magic. I’d give anything to experience this for the first time again.” – –u/shortcircuit51
Circe
I love greek mythology retellings and Circe by Madeline Miller is up there as one of my favorites. She takes a minor and forgotten character named Circe tells her tragedy and giving this character the redemption arc she deserves.
“It’s a Greek retelling about the witch, Circe, who got exiled to an island by the gods who fear her powers (kinda).” –u/Due-Examination-37
A Wizard of Earthsea
As a big fantasy fan, I was taken back at how amazing A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K Le Guin was. If you loved Harry Potter, then this is a must read as many ideas from this novel are used by Rowling. Even though Rowling doesn’t verbally give Le Guin credit for inspiration, the similarities are hard to ignore.
“It was a great read. A nice combination of reflective and escapism.”
Red Rising
If you love horror novels, then the Hannibal Lector series by Pierce Brown are worth reading. Red Rising is the novel that made the list but the most memorable one is The Silence of the Lambs. The series doesn’t hold up well but the first two books in the series are great reads.
“A bit ‘Hunger Games in Space’ but damn was it action packed and fun. Lots of hints at a wider world and it’s fleshed out into a solar-system encompassing saga in subsequent books.
Finished it on audiobook in a week and finished the next three in the series in 10 days. It’s been a long time since I’ve been this excited by a book series. Currently on book six, and book seven, the finale, is currently being finished.”
