Benny The Butcher is giving his fans a big treat: a surprise album, his second LP of the year — plus the promise of one more drop in 2024.
On Friday (August 2), the Griselda MC took to social media to announce that in just one week, on August 9, he’d be putting out a new project called Summertime Butch.
“I told yall im droppin 3 times this year…Streets need something !!!” he began.
“Jus cuz I love yall and the summer not over yet AUG 9TH ‘SummerTime Butch’ A Whole Project SURPRISE MF’s Tell em I said THE BUTCHER COMIN !!!! Get ready 8/9.”

Summertime Butch comes on the heels of Benny’s earlier 2024 release Everybody Can’t Go, which came out in January. That project features guest appearances from Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Stove God Cooks, Jadakiss, Babyface Ray, and more; as well as Griselda stalwarts Armani Caesar, Westside Gunn and Conway The Machine.

“Lyrically, Everybody Can’t Go is the latest addition to the empirical evidence piling up in favor of Benny The Butcher’s craftiness with words — the manner in which he presents his story unlocks new perspectives even when he runs back certain themes and concepts.
“Whereas a lot of the Buffalo spitter’s peers stay struggling to retain their identities while holding people’s attention, he’s made the dominant brand of yesterday’s Hip Hop scene his niche in the current landscape and ensured that fans of all ages turn to his team when they have a craving for it.
