Betty White, the iconic, legendary comedian-actress known for her roles on Golden Girls and Hot in Cleveland and known for her many commercials and TV series; sadly passed away today on New Year’s Day Eve shy of her millennial birthday at 99-years-young. Now that would have been a record she would have lived to be 100-years-young. Her cause of death is unknown.
Her fans expected her to ‘live long and prosper’ until she reached 100 but sadly that wasn’t the case. It’s a very emotional and sad day to close out 2021 and begin the New Year 2022.
People tweeted the actress was adored by many of her fans and will be remembered as TV’s perennial ‘Golden Girl.’ Several media outlets reported her passing including Fox News and TMZ. White was to turn the big number on January 17. We expected her to make her mark as she was so close to turning 100 sadly that didn’t happen. She was the last surviving ‘Golden Girl’ of her era.

Her close friend and agent Jeff Witjas shared this statement:
“Even though Betty was about to be 100, I thought she would live forever,’ her agent and close friend Jeff Witjas tells PEOPLE in a statement on Friday. ‘I will miss her terribly and so will the animal world that she loved so much. I don’t think Betty ever feared passing because she always wanted to be with her most beloved husband Allen Ludden. She believed she would be with him again.'” — PEOPLE
