One of the most important decisions during the process of developing a world tour for any artist is to decide the method of ticket presales and ordinary sales for tickets to see live shows. For a few decades now there has been a dichotomy, either production will use Ticketmaster or Live Nation to promote their tour and handle the selling and distribution of concert tickets.
Today Ticketmaster has the reputation of being the company you want to sign with if you are a new artist with the potential to gain a global audience. On the other hand, Live Nation has the reputation of devising affordable options for fans typically with artists who are already established within their industry. Bad Bunny is one of the most popular musical acts today; his production team has selected Ticketmaster but many fans are demanding more access to presale tickets for his upcoming 2022 world tour.
The world tour is entitled El Ultimo Tour del Mundo 2022, also known as the Last World Tour 2022. Presale tickets became available on Thursday, April 15 through Ticketmaster. Unfortunately, many fans experienced longer than usual wait times to purchase tickets and Ticketmaster’s website crashed which threw the selling and distribution of tickets process up in the air and out of order. Many fans took to social media to discuss their experience with Ticketmaster and how some would typically have bought closer seating they would have to settle for the available seats after the website crash.
“I literally don’t even want to go see Bad Bunny anymore that’s how (blank) the @Ticketmaster experience was,” one fan tweeted.
Another fan posted: “Was it just me who cried when Ticketmaster crashed, and I couldn’t get a bad bunny ticket.”
Even though some fans had a difficult experience with Ticketmaster’s website, they will have to settle for what seats are available especially since tickets for the worldwide tour will be going on sale for the general public on April 16. Some fans who are still having problems with Ticketmaster’s technology are looking into secondary options like StubHub where the average Bad Bunny ticket prices are around $300.
There is a significant demand to see Bad Bunny perform live. While his stage name is Bad Bunny, his real name is Benito Antonio, Martinez Ocasio. He’s a reggaeton megastar from Puerto Rico. The sound of his music is traditional reggaeton mixed with Latin and hip-hop flavor that is new and refreshing of the genre. His album El Ultimo Tour Del Mundo (2020) is the first all Spanish-language album to reach number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 albums chart.
It is interesting the way Bad Bunny released information regarding his world tour. He had been a celebrity featured on the WWE professional wrestling programming where he and Damian Priest pinned the Miz and John Morrison in a tag-team match at WrestleMania 37 in Tampa, Florida on April 10. After the match, he announced his world tour and it immediately caused fans to buzz on social media. Tickets for the worldwide tour are now available to the general public.
