I double majored in English and Theatre at Saint Louis University for undergraduate school. I’ve gained a lot of knowledge regarding concepts in literature and performance. After graduation, my primary goal was to become a full-time writer for a private or public company or online digital media platform. I worked for a private healthcare company for one year before spending several years working for a non-profit. Throughout these years, I had developed a website that was designed to be a community space for creative people to share their art and information regarding the creative process and how viewers could purchase their creations. 641 extremely talented artist from around the world joined the website, and I received positive feedback.
However, things changed. Internet content began to be focused on websites that are easily crawled to capture editorial information. At one point, it became obvious that my company would need to move to another content management system in order to get our content on search engines and social media.
I am now working on getting my M.S. in Cybersecurity from Webster University. I only have a few classes left to complete, and I am most excited about Practical Research in which I will be responsible for delivering a thesis of 30 pages or more. In that document, I want to express how I have been able to bring my passions together-arts and entertainment as well as technology)-and how cybersecurity can impact both areas.
I will be taking the class toward the end of 2020. I would like to use this blogging space to share notes about the things I’ve learned, challenges I’ve had, and how technology will remain an important factor for internet users to connect with arts and entertainment content in the future.
