The 2024 Beijing International Canal Arts Fest is all kicking off tomorrow! Taking place at FunsTown Oct 2-4, it’s going to be one amazing event that you don’t want to miss! Ahead of the fest, here are all your must know FAQs.
How do I buy tickets?
You don’t need to buy a ticket for the fest because it’s completely FREE! However, you do need to register before attending the festival. See the question below for more details.
How do I register?
To register, you need to scan the QR code below and then fill in your details. Once you’ve registered, remember to take a screenshot of the successful registration page as you’ll need that to get into the venue on the day.
Can I register at the door?
Yes, you can register at the door, however availability will be according to the current number of people in the venue. If the venue is temporarily at capacity, those with online reservations made in advance will be given priority admission so we recommend you register in advance to be safe.
What do I need to get into the festival?
If you’ve already registered, it’s best to prepare your proof of registration in advance by following the instructions in the poster below. When you arrive at the venue, go to the entrance, show your proof of registration, and you’ll be given a wristband to enter the festival.
How do I get to the festival?
The fest is happening at Xidianjiyi FunsTown in Gaobeidian. Here are a few different ways to get there:
Ride-Hailing App
If you’re using a ride-hailing app, simply type in “FunsTown” and then pick the option that says “Xidian Yiji FunsTown,” which should be the third option. Or, if you’re using an app in Chinese, choose “西店记忆FunsTown,” which should be the second option.
Taxi
If you’re taking a taxi, just show your driver this address: 朝阳区高碑店方家村甲18号西店记忆FunsTown.
Subway
If you’re looking to save some money and take the subway, the closest station to our Canal Fest venue is Line 7’s Baiziwan (百子湾站). To walk or cycle from the station, you’ll need to head out of Exit B and head east along Guangqu Lu until you come to Xidianjiyi Lu, then turn left (heading north) and carry on up the road until you reach Xidianjiyi South Gate. The walk is about 2.5km and should take around 30 minutes.
What food and drink will be at Canal Fest?
There are 80+ different dishes and drinks to try at the fest, from a whole range of different countries. You can find more details about all the food and drink vendors in this post.
Will there be other vendors there besides food and drink vendors?
Yes, there will also be a few market vendors at the festival.
What time does the festival start and finish?
The festival is running Oct 2-4 from 11am until 9pm each day.
Is there an entertainment schedule?

Will there be any activities besides those on the stage?
Yes! There are several booths on-site offering prize-based activities including this one from HELLMANN’S.
Enjoy a delicious moment with HELLMANN’S! They’re inviting influencers with over 10,000 followers to take photos in front of their display. Those who post the photo can receive a free bottle of HELLMANN’S Mayonnaise (flavor randomly selected, limited to the first 50 participants each day.)
Can I bring children to the fest?
Yes! Children are welcome.
Can we bring pets to the fest?
Yes! The venue is completely pet-friendly, so your furry friends are welcome. However, please make sure to keep your dog on a leash at all times.
Where are the toilets located at the festival?
To get to the toilets you’ll need to go out of the main festival entrance (west side) then turn left and simply follow the signs for the toilet.
Is there anything I should bring to the fest?
Yes, there is a lawn area where you can relax, so we’d recommend bringing a picnic blanket to sit on and some mosquito repellent to stave off those nasty pests!
