Hip hop artist Kemetstry (formerly known as Spida Lee) is set to drop his much-anticipated second project under his new name, Kemz The Alchemist, on 30th September 2024. Following up on his 2022 release, Kemz The Atlantean, this latest album continues to explore Kemetstry’s unique blend of sounds and influences, all while keeping the energy and essence of classic hip hop alive.
Originally conceived as a 12-track project, Kemetstry has distilled Kemz The Alchemist down to a tight 8 tracks – plus a bonus drum and bass remix – making for a total of 9 diverse and dynamic tracks.
The album features production from some of the scene’s most respected names. UK boom bap heavyweight Illinformed brings the heat on the track “Dick Head,” while Farma G of Taskforce provides a head-nodding rawness on “Consequences.”
Jack Danz steps in on production duties for “Too Bad Mind,” delivering a trap-inspired double-time flow that packs a punch. Fans can also look forward to two heavy-hitting boom bap beats courtesy of Italian producer Krimson, and more standout production throughout.
On the mic, Kemetstry is joined by a stellar lineup of collaborators. South London MC Verbz (High Focus Records) flows smoothly over a laid-back groove, while Huddersfield’s own Kilo contributes to a vibey lo-fi track. The album also features a posse cut with bars from Menace Mendoza, Jibbarish, KG-Chi, and Flowtecs, rounding out the project with a variety of lyrical styles and energies.
