The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙🖤💚
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍🌎
Character development: 😔🤨😛😁🥰
The heroine: Sarah – she was one of the survivors of the raiders. She lived in the caves with the raiders and like most of the other women there, she was a prisoner, kept there to do the drudge work, like cooking, washing clothes and cleaning. After the bikers and most of the others escaped and a few of the raiders who survived got desperate, they grabbed Sarah and Gabby to hold them hostage for food and guns.
The Hero: Fen’k – He was a Xarc’n hunter who worked in the Rocky Mountains fighting the alien bugs that were ravaging the Earth. When he heard that two females were being held hostage near his area, he wanted to help and he was able to rescue Sarah, the small blonde female who looked so helpless running from a small cabin that had been set ablaze with her hands tied. From the time he rescued her and held her in his arms, he couldn’t stop thinking about her. So, he agreed to help the humans get ready to fight against the scourge in order to spend more time with Sarah.
The Story: Sarah wanted nothing to do with Fen’k, she was done with men. She had enough of falling for jerks that ended up leaving her life in shambles. She had been married twice before and both men had cheated on her. She had a child with her second husband, and they stayed together when the bugs came to look out for their five-year-old son, Caleb. Then one day after they had been with the raiders for a while, her husband took her son and left while she slept. He took her heart with him, and she didn’t want to be hurt like that again.
I love the fact that as soon as Fen’k finds out about Sarah’s son, he offers to help her find him. She was stuck before with nobody from the raiders camp offering to help her find her son after her ex stole a truck and left. I liked both of these characters and I always love a storyline where a journey is involved. One thing about most alien romance books that I never understand though, is the fact that they always make the aliens’ horns an erogenous zone. When in reality you know that animals with horns can’t really feel anything with their horns. If they could, then Rams would never ram each other.
