Fake Dad, the project of Los Angeles-based duo Andrea de Varona (she/her) and Josh Ford (he/him), share their brand new single Touch Me, an intoxicating blend of bedroom synth-pop meets indie-rock.
What I like the most about this song is Andrea’s gorgeous vocals and dreamy harmonies that instantly drew my attention to the song and got me excited to want to share it with you guys. Touch Me is about using carnal pleasure as a respite from the nagging feeling that everything is passing you by. De Varona’s ethereal vocals plead with you to join in and let your heart take the lead, while soaring effortlessly over a memorable blend of sun-soaked layered guitars, steady drums and quirky synths. There’s also a 90s vibe in the song that I really like, with O’Riordan (Cranberries) musical stylings and an overall chill vibe perfect for an introspective day home alone.
