Norm Lewis to Headline Barrington Stage Company Benefit
This year’s benefit will honor Mary Testa with the 2024 William Finn Award for Excellence in Musical Theatre.
Tony nominee Norm Lewis will headline Barrington Stage Company’s annual BSC IN NYC benefit October 21 at Chelsea Table+Stage.
Performing jazz standards, showtunes, and a handful of pop classics, Lewis will celebrate Barrington’s 30th anniversary season with a solo program during the benefit. A Tony, Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle nominee, Lewis’s Broadway credits include The Gershwins’ Porgy & Bess, The Phantom of the Opera, The Little Mermaid, Chicken & Biscuits, Once On This Island, and more.
This year’s benefit will honor Mary Testa with the 2024 William Finn Award for Excellence in Musical Theatre. Thrice Tony nominated for her work on revivals of Oklahoma!, 42nd Street, and On The Town, Testa is a longtime friend and collaborator of Finn’s, having starred in his musical A New Brain numerous times since its premiere in 1998.
The event will also honor Board Emeritus Rosita Sarnoff. Sarnoff was a producer on a number of Off-Broadway productions, including A…My Name is Alice, which was created and directed by BSC Founding Artistic Director Julianne Boyd. Today, she serves on the Board of the Barrington Stage Supporting Foundation.
The evening will begin at 6:00 PM with cocktails, a sit-down dinner, Lewis’s performance, and a champagne toast to follow. Tickets start at $400. Proceeds benefit the Julianne Boyd New Works Fund. Eda Sorokoff is Chair. Violet Eagan and Rosita Sarnoff are Co-Chairs.
