I participated in a book challenge last year on Instagram called the five-finger challenge, which I enjoyed so much that I decided to do it again this year and have it posted here. So here goes!
👍𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗯 (a book I’d give a thumbs up to):
‘Twenty-one Truths About Love’. I absolutely loved this book. It’s such an unusual and unique book written in lists form. Weird right? Yep it is, but it’s also a really amazing read. So much life lessons to learn from this one.
☝️𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘅 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 (a book I’d recommend to everyone):
‘We Are Not Like Them’. I recommend this book to EVERYONE. It is such an important book because it touches on extremely sensitive topics – racism and police brutality. The friendship between two childhood friends Jen (Caucasian) and Riley (Black) gets tested and comes to a staggered pause when a Black teen is shot by two cops, one of whom is Jen’s husband. The book is told in alternate POVs between both women, so readers don’t miss a thing as we follow both women through thier internal struggles and epiphanies. Worth reading, I can guarantee you.
🖖𝗠𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 (a book I didn’t enjoy):
‘A Man Called Ove’. To be honest, I didn’t enjoy it as much. It took me almost two months to finish it because I almost DNF’d it, but I really wanted to finish it so I pushed on. I know it’s a much-loved book among the bookstagram community, but I expected so much more and didn’t get it.
🖖𝗥𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 (a fictional character I’d marry):
Jared the robot in ‘Set My Heart to Five’. He’s just so sweet and hilarious and adorable 🙂
🤙𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗸𝘆 (a book I promise to read):
‘Verity’. I’ve heard so much about this book, and though I wasn’t too impressed with the first CoHo book I read, I’ll give it another chance and read this one!
I hope to feature more book challenges* here soon!
